Why Aureon
Aureon Collector is the next chapter of a business built over 17 years within the Hermès secondary market.
For much of that time, our work happened behind the scenes. We provided services to major e-commerce platforms, private-client businesses, concierge companies and international corporate partners. We operated white-label services, managed fulfilment and logistics, worked under detailed contractual obligations and built systems capable of handling high-value Hermès consistently, discreetly and at scale.
For five years, we operated the UK’s largest by-appointment Hermès showroom, regularly holding between £2 million and £3 million of owned and consigned pieces at any one time.
That responsibility shaped the way we think about authentication, documentation, valuation, insurance, security, logistics and risk. It also gave us something that cannot be created retrospectively: years of intensive physical exposure to Hermès at scale.
Experience cannot be created retrospectively.
A different kind of experience
Over 17 years we have dealt with sophisticated counterfeits, fraudulent documentation, complex consignments, high-value corporate contracts, international logistics, client disputes, major theft and forensic insurance investigations.
We have also carried the responsibility of holding millions of pounds of assets belonging to clients and suppliers. Those experiences have shaped the way we think about protecting valuable collections and businesses before something goes wrong.
We understand the risk because we have carried it.

Independent advice matters
As Hermès has become more widely recognised as a collectible asset category, the amount of information available to collectors has grown rapidly too.
That is positive for the market, but it also makes understanding the difference between market commentary, sales messaging and independent advice increasingly important.
Aureon Collector’s advisory work is not driven by the need to sell inventory. We can assess a proposed acquisition according to the piece itself, the market, the price being asked, the available evidence and your individual circumstances.
Sometimes the right advice is to proceed. Sometimes it is to wait. Sometimes it is to walk away.

Case study
Our business has experienced two significant London burglaries: the first in 2022, when approximately £500,000 of Hermès was stolen, and the second involving millions of pounds of Hermès.
Both resulted in detailed forensic insurance investigations in which our stock records, photography, ownership information, authentication records, valuations and supporting documentation were scrutinised.
In both cases, our insurance claims were paid in full, less the applicable policy contribution, and our consignors received their full consignment values.
The systems and processes we now advise others on are therefore not theoretical. They have been tested through two significant losses and the forensic investigations that followed.
Why it matters
The best time to find out whether your records can withstand forensic scrutiny is not after a loss.
Authenticated by Aureon™
Authenticated by Aureon™ is our proprietary Hermès authentication standard. Every piece is physically examined through a 72-point methodology and reviewed by four human specialists — two internal and two independent — before certification can be issued.
No AI. No image-only authentication. No single-person decision.

Education
Aureon develops bespoke programmes for businesses, professional teams, private collectors and organisations wanting to provide meaningful educational experiences for their clients.
There is no standard programme. The content is adapted according to who is in the room, why Hermès is relevant to their work and what they need to understand.
Education programmes →Visibility & experience
For much of Aureon’s history, our work took place behind the scenes. We provided expertise, infrastructure and services to other businesses rather than building the company around a public-facing personality or social-media following.
Someone discovering Aureon today may therefore already be more familiar with businesses or individuals with significantly larger online audiences. Our authority has been built differently.
It comes from seventeen years of direct market experience, more than £100 million of Hermès handled through real transactions, over 10,000 pieces physically examined and authenticated, years of B2B operations and the responsibility of managing millions of pounds of high-value assets.
Visibility can be built quickly. Experience cannot.
