Aureon Collector

Private collectors

Specialist support for the collection you have built.

Your Hermès collection may have been built over many years, across countries and through different sources. Some pieces may have significant financial value. Others may carry personal history, memories or family significance. Often they hold both.

Understand what you own

A clearer record of the collection as a whole.

A well-managed collection should not depend on boxes of receipts, photographs spread across different phones or trying to remember where a particular piece came from.

Aureon can review and catalogue your existing collection, bringing together the information that matters. Depending on your collection, this can include photography, specifications, condition reporting, purchase information, supporting documentation, provenance, authentication records and current valuations.

Know what it is worth

Retail price and replacement cost are not the same number.

Hermès values change over time.

Retail price, original purchase price, secondary-market value and realistic replacement cost can all be different. That distinction becomes particularly important when your collection is being insured, inherited, divided, professionally advised upon or otherwise considered within a wider financial or legal context.

Aureon provides purpose-specific valuations for individual pieces and significant collections.

Collecting, value & investment

Not every Hermès purchase is an investment.

Hermès is now regularly discussed alongside art, watches, jewellery, wine and other collectible asset categories. That has created considerable interest in its potential as an investment, but it has also produced an oversimplified narrative that buying Hermès automatically means buying an appreciating asset. The reality is considerably more nuanced, particularly when buying on the secondary market.

A piece purchased directly from Hermès at retail may have very different financial characteristics from the same piece acquired at a substantial premium on the secondary market. A historically strong market also does not mean every model, specification or purchase price will produce the same result.

Scarcity, condition, specification, acquisition price, market liquidity, changing demand and the point at which you enter the market all matter.

Aureon helps you understand that context before making significant collecting decisions. Where a piece is being presented as an investment, we can look at the evidence behind that claim.

A rising Hermès market does not mean every Hermès purchase is a good investment.

Build with greater confidence

An independent perspective before you buy.

We can consider whether the asking price is reasonable, how scarce a piece actually is, the implications of its condition, whether the documentation makes sense, how it fits within your existing collection and whether the market narrative surrounding it is supported by the available evidence.

Our role is not to sell you the piece. It is to give you the information and context you need to make a better-informed decision.

Independent advice sometimes means telling you not to buy the bag.

Protect your collection

Protection extends beyond a policy.

Accurate valuation, authentication, photography, ownership records and appropriate documentation can all become important if something goes wrong. Storage, security, travel and movement between properties may also need to be considered. We work alongside your existing insurers, brokers, family office, lawyers and other advisers where appropriate.

Plan for the future

Collections become part of estate planning.

Aureon can help you and your professional advisers organise the information required where pieces may ultimately be gifted, inherited, transferred between family members, included within an estate or divided between beneficiaries. The earlier this information is organised, the easier future decisions can become.

When something goes wrong

An independent specialist perspective.

Sometimes a piece is questioned. Sometimes documentation does not make sense. Sometimes a purchase is disputed, an insurance claim has occurred, or two specialists disagree. Aureon can work alongside your lawyers, insurers, brokers or other professional advisers.

Advice built around your collection, not a transaction.
